Our Village

Corston is a small village of about 500 people.  It lies in the triangle formed between the Bristol Road (A4) and the Wells Road, (A39), a couple of miles to the west of Bath.

The village dates from Saxon times and its boundaries stretch from the Meadows by the Corston Brook and the river Avon up to the high plateau of arable land known as Corston Fields.

Historically Corston was an agricultural/ coal mining community.  There are now just two working farms and the old mines around the Globe Inn roundabout have long since disappeared.  Local employment these days is provided nearby at Bath Spa University,  by Church Farm Business Park and by a large nursing home; others work in Bath or Bristol.

Our Village has a reputation as a friendly community, with plenty of activities based on the village hall, the playing field and its adjoining wildlife area and the Parish Church.

There are pleasant walks from the village along the river to Bath or Saltford and through the fields of Newton Park.
